Striped pie can be prepared with any fermented milk product. Kefir is no exception. Kefir (250 ml) mixed with a teaspoon of soda. In the meantime, beat soft butter (100 g) with 3 eggs, vanilla extract and one glass of sugar. We combine the resulting mixture with kefir, add 3 cups of sifted flour. Required dough consistency: thicker than regular pancakes.
As in the case of the classic recipe, divide the mixture in half, carefully mix 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa into one serving.
Bake the cake for 40 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees. Readiness is checked with a skewer.
Zebra cake with condensed milk instead of butter
If you replace the butter in the classic recipe with condensed milk, you get a completely different texture and taste of the cake.
Thoroughly mix sour cream (200 ml) with half a can of condensed milk. Sift 200 grams of flour together with baking powder, if using vanillin instead of extract, add it to the flour at this stage.
Mix 3 eggs and 100 grams of sugar at a high mixer speed until a fluffy foam is formed. The mass should turn white. Pour the sour cream-condensed milk mixture into the beaten eggs, continuing to beat at high speeds, mix. Next step: adding flour. Thoroughly knead the dough with a mixer, leaving no lumps.
Dividing the finished mass into two parts, add cocoa to one of them. We send the form with the pie to the oven for 45 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees.
Zebra cake with mayonnaise
An unusual variation with the addition of mayonnaise, which provides an interesting flavor note.
We mix 60 grams of margarine with sugar (220 g) until the grains dissolve, add 3 eggs there and continue to beat. The next step is to add 125 grams of mayonnaise and sour cream (150 ml). Sift flour (320 g) together with baking powder, mix thoroughly until medium density without lumps. As in other recipes, then half of the dough needs to be tinted with cocoa and put into a mold according to the scheme. Bake such a cake for 40 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.
Curd "Zebra" in a slow cooker
The resulting cake does not betray its "curd" in any way, which is good if you are cooking for children who do not like this product.
We pre-pierce 500 grams of medium-fat cottage cheese with a blender so that there are no lumps and graininess. Beat 3 eggs with 200 grams of sugar until fluffy foam, mix with curd mass and low-fat cream (50 ml). If you are using ready-made sweetened curd mass instead of cottage cheese, you do not need to punch it with a blender, and the amount of sugar should be reduced. We divide the mixture in two: add cocoa to one part, a teaspoon of starch to the second.
Lubricate the multicooker bowl with butter, spread the curd mass according to the classical scheme. We bake the cake for 80 minutes on the "Baking" mode, then let it cool for 15 minutes.
"Zebra" on milk in a slow cooker
Another recipe for a slow cooker without sour cream and kefir. Beat 4 eggs with the addition of a glass of sugar, a pinch of salt and vanilla extract. We need fluffy white foam. Mix milk (200 ml) with vegetable oil (115 ml) separately and pour in a thin stream into the egg mass, continuing to work at low speed.
Sift 325 grams of flour together with baking powder into a mass, mixing until “no lumps” state. We divide the dough into two parts, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa to one, and two more tablespoons of flour to the other.
Pour the dough into the multicooker bowl, greased with oil. The cake will be baked on the “Baking” program for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Leave the cake for 10-15 minutes to cool.
Zebra in the microwave
It takes no more than 15 minutes to prepare, which is very convenient if guests are on the doorstep. Melt 50 grams of butter or margarine to a liquid state, cool. Mix with 200 milliliters of sour cream (you can take kefir). Add 3 eggs, a glass of sugar, 250 grams of flour sifted with baking powder. Whip all the ingredients quickly with a mixer, achieving a texture without lumps. We divide the dough into two parts, mixing one with cocoa.
Pour into a microwaveable silicone mold using the standard method. You need to bake such a cake for 8-9 minutes at a power of 800 watts.
Layered Zebra Cake
This cake is very similar in composition to the classic version on sour cream. But we will cook it according to a different scheme: not one thick cake, but 4 thin ones. It can be layered with your favorite cream to taste and served at the festive table.
Separate the whites from the yolks of 4 eggs. The yolks will come in handy a little later, and we will start cooking by whipping the whites with 2 cups of sugar until a dense, fluffy white foam. The speed of the mixer should be the highest, you need to spend at least 10 minutes on this process. Muffins are easy to bake in a silicone mold. At the bottom of each form we put a tablespoon of light mass, then - chocolate, filling two-thirds of the height. Bake muffins for 25 minutes at 180 degrees.
